YAY! I finished my first marathon!!!
More on the experience and lessons learned later. For now, it’s nap time…
Hello, Family and Friends!
The last four weeks have been pretty intense. In addition to all the changes that come with the new semester, I was coming up on the final weeks of marathon training. I’m just starting to get over this nasty cold / allergy complex that forced me to make some compromises on my training schedule, so I’m a bit nervous about how the race will go and whether...

FUNDRAISING UPDATE!
We exceeded my initial goal by raising $635! A reminder that there’s just over a month left for me to raise money for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation in honor of my second-cousin and goddaughter, Melaina. Let’s see if we can double that and then some by October 2nd to raise $1500! Groundbreaking research has already found that some of the symptoms can...

Oh, hi!
It’s been a while, eh? I am happy to report that I’m feeling much more motivated to run these days and making choices that prioritize my running….like going to bed early on a Saturday night so that I can get up early for a 13-mile long run :)
Gonna lace up and hit the road now!

Donate your support to the International Rett... →
I finally got a fundraising page set up through FirstGiving.com! Like I mentioned in my first post, I’m running the Twin Cities Marathon on October 2nd and am asking friends and family for their support by pledging a financial contribution that will benefit the IRSF. You can pledge $1 per mile of the marathon (26.3) or any amount that you can comfortably manage - every dollar counts! Right...

It’s been five days since my last run, which was a very short two-miles. The sun was beating down without any wind, making it feel like 100 degrees. And I was on vacation! I skipped my long run this past week and a bit worried about getting back on track in training.
Had a realization that my perfectionism is getting in the way with this training goal. I keep telling myself that the...

Just do it! ...tomorrow? Motivation woes.
After the epic/traumatic 15-mile run/walk on Monday, my body was in major need of recovery. It seemed reasonable for me to take yesterday off, but when it came down to actually doing my short 3-mile run today, I was stuck in “Blah” mode. You would think that five weeks into my 18-week marathon training program, I would be in a “just do it!” groove. Instead, I find myself...

Run, Steph, Run! Blog, Steph, Blog!
Hi Guys,
I started another Tumblr! This time, I’m blogging about all the things running related, particularly as a way to keep myself accountable. Why do I need extra accountability? Well, that’s because I decided to sign up for the Twin Cities Marathon on Saturday, October 2nd (a day before I turn 29 years old!). I always told myself that I wanted to try running a marathon before I...
