Hello, Family and Friends!

The last four weeks have been pretty intense. In addition to all the changes that come with the new semester, I was coming up on the final weeks of marathon training. I’m just starting to get over this nasty cold / allergy complex that forced me to make some compromises on my training schedule, so I’m a bit nervous about how the race will go and whether I’ll make it through. No matter what happens though, I’m grateful for the strength and wisdom I have gained through the training experience. I’m even more grateful for the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for Rett Syndrome. With your many generous donations and kind thoughts, we raised nearly $700 for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation! If you’d like to make a donation / pledge, you can still do so at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/rettcure/melaina2.

Thank you for your encouragement and support over the last several months in my efforts to run my first marathon, Tomorrow, I’ll be thinking of my cousin and goddaugther, Melaina, as I’m running tomorrow morning and running with gratitude for all of the love and support of my family and friends.

If you’d like to follow my progress during the marathon, you can track me online in real time! Just follow this link:
